Congressman Introduces English Education Legislation

Filed under: education — vtpeertopeer @ 5:06 am

I just retuned from a nice trip from Washington state (to see the divorce lawyer) and thought it was time to start writing for the blog again: Representative Mike Honda a democrat from San Jose has authored the Strengthen and Unite Communities with Civics Education and English Skills Act of 2009. This is legislation is aimed at helping the families that immigrate to the United States that speak a language other than English at home according to Rep. Honda a former science teacher and public school principal.
Rep. Honda believes the family that immigrates and the citizens, whose primary language is not English, are not expected to abandon their native language, but the legislation will provide a way for them to learn English better. I think this is a good idea myself because it could prevent them from having to get it. If you are going thru a divorce in the state of Washington and you happen to need a Washington Divorce lawyer at some later date and it could also help them understand their reason for divorce and so on and so forth etc. This will enable them to communicate better in school and at work. They will also have a more complete understanding of the privileges of United States citizenship. By the way if you are looking for perhaps learning disability boarding schools and also learning difference boarding schools, then may I suggest St. Pauls Academy. They do counseling as well. According to Rep. Honda one in five people in the United States speak a language other than English at home according to Washington and there are few literacy resources available to help them have a complete understanding of the language. Like I said earlier, it will also help them to avoid credit counseling and divorce as well.

Bicycle Accidents Kills Triathlete in Contra Costa County, California

Filed under: Legal News — vtpeertopeer @ 8:09 pm

Less than two weeks ago a man was struck by a vehicle while he rode his bicycle down Camino Tassajara in Contra Costa County, California (located near Sacramento, far north of Los Angeles). The middle-aged man was training for the upcoming Vineman Triathlon when a Honda Civic struck him from behind. He and his bicycle were caught and dragged under the wheels of the vehicle, causing severe injuries. The man did not even make it to the hospital after the police and medical help arrived. He was declared dead at the scene of the accident. After hitting the bicyclist, the driver of the Honda veered into the next lane and faced oncoming traffic. He almost immediately struck another vehicle head-on and suffered his own injuries. According to the police report from the California Highway Patrol, the man somehow lost control of his vehicle before striking and killing the bicyclist. If you are a victim to an injury such as this, contact a Sacramento or Los Angeles bicycle accident attorney to protect your rights and get you the financial compensation you deserve.
Like many other highways in the state of California, the section of Camino Tassajara where the man was struck and killed does not have access to a bike lane or even a shoulder which bicyclists and cars alike can use to avoid accidents, injuries, and death. To make the potential for problems even greater, this road is often used as a shortcut to get to at least two different freeways. This means that at any given time, drivers may be speeding along this road in anticipation of getting to the freeway. This road can also become easily congested because of its easy access to freeways, making it more likely for accidents to occur.
Many times there is more than one reason why bicycling accidents such as this occur. Although it is not suspected that the driver of the Honda Civic was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident, both drugs and alcohol are often a factor in these types of incidents. It is also common for these types of accidents to occur when drivers are exceeding the speed limit for one reason or another.
There could be a number of reasons why this accident truly occurred, but regardless of those reasons, it is a tremendous loss to his family and friends that his life was cut so short when he still had so much for which to live. Although he was middle-aged, he was perhaps in the best shape of his life as he enjoyed exercise and adventure, with his extensive triathlon training as proof. The Vineman Triathlon for which he was competing is not far off, and he undoubtedly had high hopes of coming in near the top of the list of competitors. Career-wise, the man was also a successful branch manager for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney at a location in Walnut Creek.
If you have a family member who was killed in a bike accident or another tragic accident, you should consider filing a wrongful death claim with the help of a personal injury lawyer. Your personal injury lawyer can guide you through the process and help you receive the compensation you deserve for the loss of your loved one.

Virtual Assistants Is In More Demand

Businesses that have had to scale back on employees are finding that the virtual assistant is one way to keep productivity up while at the same time keeping overhead costs down. This is because of the differences in the employees, while the virtual assistant can perform the needed task there are not the same costs associated. This is true for several reasons, the first of which is the virtual assistant normally is responsible for their own home office equipment such as office chairs plus other furniture, their own taxes and in most cases are not covered by the same benefits that an in office employee would be.
BTW if you find your self needing a solid Furniture Source that are ergonomic I must give a plug to this site. Their office furniture are indeed top notch, it is an excellent such re source .There is also the benefit that the virtual assistant wants the business from the company, unlike the in office employee they stay on top of all their work related duties to ensure the company does not stop using their services. This for most businesses can be profitable and at the same time have a valued assistant that is the backbone for the business without the added costs of the in office employee so you can upgrade the furniture..

Singer Chris Brown Sentenced For Assault

Filed under: Legal News — vtpeertopeer @ 9:45 pm

Just got back from San Diego (almost got into a car accident, scary stuff) but this story caught my attention: Singer Chris Brown appeared in a Los Angeles court where he pleaded guilty to assaulting Rihanna, his girlfriend at the time the assault took place. Brown entered the guilty plea in exchange for a deal with the Los Angeles Prosecutors Office. The agreement is that Brown will spend five years on probation, and he is also required to attend courses on domestic violence. Along with this the Los Angeles judge Patricia Schnegg ordered as a part of the plea agreement that Brown perform 180 days of community service.
Brown age 20 will serve his probation and other terms of the plea agreement in his home state of Virginia. He was also ordered to keep his distance from his former girlfriend Rihanna. By the way if you ever need a good San Diego car accident attorney I do recommend the Law offices of Ramiro Luis. Rihanna was present in the courtroom, prepared to testify in the case and had been consulted approximately an hour prior to the terms of the plea agreement according to her attorney Donald Etra. He also stated that she agreed with the plea agreement as being fair punishment.
