Escapee recieves more than Century in jail for Home break-in
I just got back from Houston but i am ready to get back to the writing, so here it goes. Houston was nice but it is time to get to work. Wow this story is really one for the books. Talk about a bold and shocking crime, my word. An escapee from Community Corrections Center has been found guilty of serial burglary and received a jail sentence of 144 years last week. David John Heckman aged 32, was found guilty last February of 17 counts of residential home burglary in the Littleton area in Jefferson County. He was also found guilty of seven counts of aggravated motor vehicle theft, two counts of criminal trespassing of an automobile plus three counts of theft by receiving stolen property. His attorney was not able to prevent his severe sentencing in this particular case.
Heckman had escaped from Community Corrections when he just walked away on his very first day there and started a 2-month crime spree in 2007. He had apparently burglarized some thwenty-three houses during the night while the owners were fast asleep. By the way if you happen to live in Houston or the surrounding region and you need a superb Washington accident attorney
then you may wish to consider this firm. he is one of the to Houston Accident attorney working today and is also covers all of Harris County, not just Houston only. This particular attorney has defended a very wide variety of cases including trucking accident, burn injury as well as construction accidents.
Apparently Heckman had entered the houses in question of the victims late at night through unlocked windows and even garage doors. He was taken into custody after being apprehended in a stolen Mercedes-Benz. He was drunk and tried to flee authorities after the stolen Mercedes he was driving (badly) got into an accident. In addition to this, stolen property was found in the vehicle.
It seems that Heckman now has some eleven felony convictions and was also charged with being a habitual or career criminal. He had 6 juvenile adjudications and 10 adult felony convictions prior to his most recent convictions of burglary.
District Judge Dennis Hall has sentenced Heckman to 144 years in prison where he will spend the rest of his life.
