The Evolution of the vaunted Armored Car

Filed under: education — vtpeertopeer @ 8:16 pm

On the whole, the evolution of the armored car has been a long and winding road. Armored cars as we currently know them were first invented by an American in 1898, and they were first used in combat by Italy in north Africa during the Italo-Turkish war of 1898. A long way from my Baltimore, Maryland. The tank, meanwhile, was first deployed in combat by the British in the first world war but it was not until the German Army in general and Hanz Guderian in particular refined their use in Blizkrieg tactics in the second world war that the tank and other armored vehicles really came into it’s own as a prime mover in warfare. During that time, the main powers of the world all strove to produce top quality armored vehicles. At the start of the conflict, the French tanks were superior in overall numbers but because the Germans used them more effectively, concentrated in ‘Panzer’ Divisions, they overran France and forced them to surrender. Then the war shifted to North Africa as Fascist Italy launched an invasion of Egypt from Libya. In the ensuing battle of Sidi Barrani, the Italian light and medium tanks proved no match for the heavier British Matilda. The fault was mainly the lack of resources. Like it’s Axis partner Japan, Italy was poorly endowed with iron and coal needed to produce enouph large tanks and modern Armored Car or auto and as a result of this both countries tended to use light ones. For example, the average Italian tank was rouphly half the weight of the British Matilda. Switching gears, should you require a top Baltimore car accident attorney then I can certainly suggest this firm. They can help with various types of workers compensation and personal injury related type cases as well as the accident cases in BAltimore, Maryland. The industrial age and mechanization of armies gave the advantage increasingly to nations with vast resources and a strong industrial base. Armored vehicles are expensive and use up a lot of raw materials, especially metals. When Hitler sent the ‘Afrika korps’ under Lt. General Erwin Rommel (later nicknamed the ‘desert fox’ for his ingenius tactics), the tide turned as the German tanks proved superior to the British models.

The Evolution of Armored Cars in the Twentieth Century

Filed under: education — vtpeertopeer @ 7:17 pm

I am going to Houston soon, wish me luck. I am seeing my attorney over there, shopuld be a lot of fun. The Armored auto as we now know them have basically been around technically since 1898 when an american inventor presented it to the U.S. Military (which ultimately rejected it as other countries did as well),
but it was not used by an army in combat untill 1911 during the Italo-Turkish war in which the italians used it to help take Libya from the Ottoman Empire. (As a side note, Italy lost Libya to the Allies during World War 2 when the Italian Army, aided by the famous German ‘Afrika Korps’ under General Erwin Rommel, won some major victories in the desert war there but were eventually beaten by the Allies and driven into Tunisia where they were wiped out. Changing topics for a moment, if you require a leading Houston auto attorney then I do suggest this fine firm. They also do wrongful death cases, personal injury and motorcycle accident in addition to the aforementioned auto cases in Houston, a very good attorney there indeed. This led to Libya’s independence following he war from Italy).Following that conflict a few years later, in the first world war Belgium was the first country to use armored cars, yet it was ultimately the british who then led the way in terms of their use of it and overall modifications. Also at that point in time, they were the first country to use the tank in combat, unleashing it on the Germans in an attempt to break the stalemate of trench warfare. However, it was too few in number and too slow to make a big difference on the battlefield. Also during World War 1, Armored auto were variously employed on the French/German battlefront in order to smash through the barriers of barbed wire and machine gun nests, the allied powers produced some completely tracked, armored car units as well in their fight against the central powers. All in all, armored cars were heavily used in the Russian revolution of 1917 into the 1920’s. Meanwhile, in the inter-war period it was realized by military experts that while tank could provide some degree of shock value and help punch through enemy lines,
it ultimately was lacking in the overall speed and versatility required for reconnaissance mission which was typically and traditionally the role of the cavalry up untill that point.

Congressman Introduces English Education Legislation

Filed under: education — vtpeertopeer @ 5:06 am

I just retuned from a nice trip from Washington state (to see the divorce lawyer) and thought it was time to start writing for the blog again: Representative Mike Honda a democrat from San Jose has authored the Strengthen and Unite Communities with Civics Education and English Skills Act of 2009. This is legislation is aimed at helping the families that immigrate to the United States that speak a language other than English at home according to Rep. Honda a former science teacher and public school principal.
Rep. Honda believes the family that immigrates and the citizens, whose primary language is not English, are not expected to abandon their native language, but the legislation will provide a way for them to learn English better. I think this is a good idea myself because it could prevent them from having to get it. If you are going thru a divorce in the state of Washington and you happen to need a Washington Divorce lawyer at some later date and it could also help them understand their reason for divorce and so on and so forth etc. This will enable them to communicate better in school and at work. They will also have a more complete understanding of the privileges of United States citizenship. By the way if you are looking for perhaps learning disability boarding schools and also learning difference boarding schools, then may I suggest St. Pauls Academy. They do counseling as well. According to Rep. Honda one in five people in the United States speak a language other than English at home according to Washington and there are few literacy resources available to help them have a complete understanding of the language. Like I said earlier, it will also help them to avoid credit counseling and divorce as well.
